" It's big, so there are naturally positives and negatives, but the good news is that if certain people or spaces or areas of study are not good for you, it's easy to find others since there's so many options. "

" I am a graduate student at the University of Michigan and the atmosphere has been very collaborative and conducive to learning. There has never been an instance where I have not felt like I do not have access to resources that would help me in my academic journey, and everyone has been incredibly nice and helpful. The people are to me what makes this university so great, and the quality of learning has been fantastic. "

" The University of Michigan is like a mini-world - there's all types of students on various academic and extracurricular tracks, which makes it really fun to meet new people and make friends. There are more traditional buildings and libraries along with modern meeting spaces and cafes, so it feels great to just walk and look around campus. Although it's a competitive school, there are so many students and staff willing to talk and help you out. It feels really welcoming and collaborative, which reduces the stress of the college's rigorous courses and motivates you to try new things and keep hustling. "

" I was at the top of my class in high school and UM definitely pushed me academically. The student body is intelligent, well-spoken, and driven- indeed a great group of people to surround yourself with. The university has over 1,600 student organizations and you are bound to find at least a few that meet your interests. The city of Ann Arbor is gorgeous and I instantly fell in love when I visited. Overall, UM is an excellent university all around. The university is also HEAVILY research focused and pushes its students to engage in research beginning freshman year. "

" The University of Michigan is an amazing university for not only studying but for a safe, moderately cheap, and social scene as well. While tough to get into, once you're in, get ready for a wild ride. There is so much opportunity to grow, learn, and prosper with a wide range of options for clubs, design teams, and university-sponsored events. As an Engineer, I can say the road can definitely be rough with studies, after all, it is one of the highest-ranking universities in the world. But with the resources they offer and the overall setting of classes, I believe you can thrive and have a good time at this amazing university. Go Blue! "
