" The University of Melbourne did not meet expectations, especially given its prestigious reputation. Having spent over 10 years in academia, I found the teaching support and student engagement to be lacking. Communication with staff was difficult, and much of the interaction was limited to discussion boards rather than meaningful, direct conversations. This made the learning experience feel impersonal and at times frustrating. While the university has a strong public image, I would encourage prospective students to speak with current or former students to get a fuller picture before making a decision. "

" Pros: you are treated as an individual, not a number (this may have to do with the fact that I was a postgraduate student, though), food is great (zambreros, subway, a variety of multicultural foods, healthy kiosks, sushi as well as PLENTY of food surrounding the campus as it is right above Melbourne CBD), transport to and from is excellent - the best in the country. Trams arrive every 3 or 4 minutes to take you to city train stations or to the inner suburbs. Very multicultural. Great support for international students and incredible exposure to people of all backgrounds. Cons: pretty cold and a little gloomy but otherwise a really great uni. "

" Not bad, I enjoyed studying there. I was a major in engineering system, got my bachelor of environments degree after being studied for 3 year. Engineering mechanics was a nightmare to me, I have failed two time, it was one of my core subjects and the overall the hardest one. "

" Great university, I would recommend it to everyone. There are excellent learning areas, and it's conveniently close to where I live. It's also easily accessible by public transport. The staff are lovely, always respond to my emails, and are willing to put in extra effort to help whenever I need it. "

" There is great flexibility in choosing electives for undergraduate courses, which lets you study the subjects that interests you. There is also one breadth subject each semester so that you can even pick up another area of study during your course. "
