The University's main campus is located in Parkville, an inner suburb north of the Melbourne central business district, with several other campuses located across Victoria.

The University of Melbourne's student body consists of 47,000 students with an International cohort of over 11,800 students from 120 countries. The university is also one of the largest employers in the state of Victoria with more than 6500 professional and academic staff spreading over seven campuses.

 " In terms of research, I'm sure UniMelb is one of the best in Australia. But in terms of creating a supportive, nurturing environment that makes you feel as if you are valued as an individual and not a number - UniMelb unfortunately falls short. "

 " The University of Melbourne is an excellent campus. Beautiful buildings, green areas for students to hang out and relax, excellent cafes and restaurants to get delicious food, and fantastic resources. The staff and students are all lovely. "

 " Great university with good networking opportunities and in the heart of the Melbourne city, but education is comparable to other Australian universities. In the commerce field, it is a competitive environment and study may be stressful, it's more theory based rather than hands on. "

 " I made some great memories at the University of Melbourne. I also know several friends who had strong employment prospects after studying here. There are lots of clubs and societies, especially compared to Monash. I would recommend getting involved in both the social and academic sides of university to get the most out of the experience.  " UniMelb provides its students a wide range of classes and social activities, as well as timely support from its staffs and even the student clubs. Classes are manageable, however, the workload requires you to fully-focused on your study in order to achieve high grades. "
