" While I didn't end up finding a job in my area of study within 6 months, I did end up working for the University at a later time. I feel the research staff pays particular attention to promising students in order to help them start a job at one of the different research groups at the University. The academic staff was also always professional without being distant. I feel that is one of the strong points of the VUB. It's a younger university without as much folkloric traditions as some of the more established universities in Belgium. I feel this also lead to the more personal approach to guidance and teaching that is practiced at the VUB. Another positive is the fact that they go out of their way to offer a lot of vegetarian and vegan options to students. Prices are also relatively low (4 - 5 euro for a meal including soup and dessert), and they now offer meals in the evening for students who live on or close to campus. The campus was also always pretty safe and nice to be around, but it's a bit removed from the center of Brussels. The fact that it's located a bit out of the way, means that students might miss out on some of the life and bustle of Brussels if they don't stray from the campus grounds often enough. A downside is the smaller library, however. I feel the VUB doesn't have as large a variety of sources available to students as other, larger universities such as KU Leuven. "

" Good university, easy to do your own thing and find your type of people. There are a lot of options for studyplaces, which is nice if you need peer pressure to study. Not far from the city center, and nice places to go eat and drink in the neighbourhood. "

" I have only been studying at this university for a few months, but so far I'm pretty happy with them. Of course, there are some things I would like to see changes, for example the workload, but overall I am pretty content. "

" Very nice vibe. Small campus with a lot of restaurants and nice people. Very diversified group of students who have different nationalities. I am very glad to study here and would recommend this university to everyone! "

" VUB is a university with great opportunities! It's a campus with a lot of sports facilities such as a swimming pool and a gym but also food and beverage establishments. Even tough you are in Brussels there is a lot of green on campus. It is a very diverse campus, with students from all over the world! "
