" I chose STFX on a whim, as one of my best friends was going there. I checked out their website and fell in love immediately. Having not even done a campus tour, I packed up my bags in Ontario and made the daunting 1300km drive to Nova Scotia. Before I digress, if you are looking for a university that is part of a major city, with a lively night scene etc., STFX and Antigonish is not the school for you. However, if you are looking for an the absolute best undergraduate experience, where you professors know your name, will take you to Piper Pub as a cohort to do finals preparation or to be surrounded by the beautiful landscape that is highland Nova Scotia, STFX is the right spot. The X-ring you will receive in your fourth year, will signify all that you have accomplished as well as give you access to one of/if not the most proud alumni populations. Let me put that in perspective: I lived abroad after my undergraduate, and met a gentleman in his 70's on the plane on route to my new home. This gentleman had a shiny gold ring with the unmistakable black 'X'. During that six hour flight we shared stories upon stories, described changes that have happened over the time. This man was a complete stranger, and we graduated nearly 50 years apart, but we shared the undeniable bond of being X alumni. I will forever cherish this school and all opportunities it offered me! " Definitely issues with parking and many amenities are outdated. Stfx handles sexual violence often problematically. I love that its a small campus and that the psychology program is small because i really got to know my professors. However, i wish there were more opportunities for personal development. The town of antigonish is a great location for anyone who loves cafes, hiking, etc. Everything is convenient and close by! "
