" pretty good school, really love the campus since there are tunnels underground connecting all the buildings so during brutal Canadians winters its really convenient. Profs can be hard to understand due to language barriers and often they just read from the slides without really teaching but there is a lot of really great helpful profs and ta's too who carried me. "

" I love attending Carleton, it's a beautiful school and my program was fantastic. There's so many cozy places to study, I especially love the library since it has talking and non talking floors + really big pretty windows. "

" Overall, great university. There are lots of spaces to study and lounge. The campus is also nice. Great views of the water nearby. Offers a wide range of programs at both graduate-level and undergraduate level. "

" The industrial design program at Carleton University is internationally recognized and one of the top 10 in North America. Through the profs and other students I had a chance to make so many amazing connections around the world and in a variety of different fields.
The Industrial Design program gets a lot more funding compared to other universities with design programs and therefore the level of services I had access to such as prototyping labs, studio spaces, and lab equipment were very good.
The Industrial Design program is also within the Faculty of Engineering and Design and therefore gets taken a lot more seriously by employers. You will find yourself doing a variety of courses such as math, physics, economics, psychology, and marketing just to name a few. This gives you an extremely broad and well rounded understanding of the design world and makes you a highly skilled individual when coming out of school.
One of the criticisms I have is that some of the topics we cover were not to my interest and felt like we could have learned more about prototyping and technology/coding. As well the turnaround time to implement improvements for students was very long and usually would amount to nothing which was very discouraging.
The mental health and student support services at Carleton University have been top notch, I have attended 2 other universities in Canada prior to Carleton and found Carleton’s proactiveness, funding, and their general view of students’ mental health to be extremely good as they took it very seriously and wanted to help students succeed rather than be just another number. "
