" Trent Durham is a pretty great place to learn. Trent Peterborough is of course the bigger campus, but for a lot of students, Trent Durham fits our needs perfectly. Trent Durham has a smaller number of students, so you're sure to make friends easily. Professors are largely pretty accommodating, the student association is always planning events to get you involved on campus (or off campus) and the plethora of extracurriculars does not leave much to be desired. Trent Durham's a ten minute (five if you book it) walk from the Oshawa Centre which provides more food than just the staples that campus provides. The campus (and new residence) is across the parking lot from the Civic Recreation Complex which you get to use for free as a Trent student. My four years here have been great, they stick to the motto: "challenge the way you think" and honestly, spare for the self-induced panics related to essays being written the day they're due, Trent Durham is a pretty rad place that gets you the undergrad degree that'll take you where you want to go. " What drew me to study at Trent was the campus and small community. It was easy to feel at home here and easy to build new relationships with students and staff. The Otonabee River splits the university into two parts: West and East Bank. It is heavily forested and has a breathtaking view each time you cross the bridge to get to and from class. I agree with previous reviewers that the food on campus is not great. There is a vegan cafe called the Seasoned Spoon which had nice, homemade meals. The campus is a short bus ride from downtown Peterborough and it is easy to find affordable accomodations. The city of Peterborough is a nice mix of nature trails and parks, as well as small cafes and restaurants within walking distance downtown. In regards to classes, I had semi-large classes even in third and fourth year (30 to 60 students). Some professors were very passionate about their research and the course content, while others did not show a lot of enthusiasm (reading off scripts or powerpoints, not very engaging). Overall, I recommend this university, especially if you love a nature-oriented campus and a close-knit community. "

" Trent was a great university with even greater people! Would highly recommend it to anyone interested in studying Archaeology! The dorm life and culture is a great way to spend your first year, it's always full of exciting events and surprises, and the cafeteria food was surprisingly really good. Professors were accessible and classes were usually small enough that you could take things at your own pace, often getting one on one time with professors. While the school might not look like your classic university, it fully deserves the architecture award it received, and the river running through it was a great place to sit and study. "

" Been a student there 7 years (2 degrees) and love how beautiful our campus is! As an individual involved in academics, sports and campus employment there are tons of opportunities to get involved which is great! "

" Great university, your experience is what you make it- choose to be involved. cafeteria food was not good but I haven’t eaten it in a few years so could be better now. Grad studies is not always a priority because they invest a lot in maintaining a good undergrad reputation but my experience so far has been positive. Claim to be green and care about the environment but have also made decisions about building that have a negative impact. Parking system is strange but what school actually has good parking? "
