" The environment is really nice. It is close to the Alster and not too far from the main station and city center. It has good food at the cafeteria and a cute little cafe. The library has workrooms that can be used without registration. "

" The games lab is well equipped and the food options on campus are good. The cafe and mensa both offer a solid range of choices, even as a vegetarian. Studying games together with other passionate people is great. The professors, however, do not always seem deeply connected to the field and sometimes focus more on their own interests during lessons. Our game design course, for example, is very theoretical with many definitions and often moves in a philosophical direction instead of teaching practical game design or analysis. There is one big project that runs throughout the whole master's, which is a big plus for building a portfolio or even founding a company. The professors regularly invite professionals to give feedback, which is actually helpful. Internal feedback from professors can sometimes feel unclear. There are many presentations, and it is not always clear whether they are graded. Aside from the big project, there are several papers and additional game projects, which can quickly become a lot of pressure. The effort required often feels higher than the designated credits suggest, so time management is essential. I would recommend coming here mainly for the big game project and the chance to collaborate with passionate peers. "

" Overall, it's a good university. However, the IT hack was a very difficult time for everyone, and the university didn't handle the situation particularly well. The teaching faculty were generally kind, but there's definitely room for improvement. In the Public Health department, there was a noticeable lack of English-speaking professors. Some classes were led by inexperienced instructors, and a few were held online because the university couldn't bring the lecturers on-site. "

" The International Management program is the best option in northern Germany if you want to study Business. Many of the people I studied with went on to do their graduate degrees at prestigious universities or landed jobs at great companies. "

" My course offers a variety of modules as well as interesting seminars related to applied media and information. There are also compulsory modules such as media informatics or IT, which we find difficult as humanities students. Campus facilities are fully equipped with modern equipment and machines (iPad, iMac, Cameras, Speakers, Lightning, ...) The only one things I dont like is about the organisation of the major. It's always hard to find staffs or we have to wait a long time to get back answers from profs! "
