" For me, it was overall a good place to study.
However, it must be considered that Ilmenau is not similar to Berlin, but you can still reach with the semester ticket (that is included in the semester fee) places in Thuringia, e.g. Erfurt, to have a more big city life.
The University itself, especially for computer science, is good and I would recommend the courses there.
If you like nature, then Ilmenau is a nice place to be, also the overall costs for rent and co are quite low compared to bigger cities.
The professors and scientific staff usually are usually always open for discussion and exchange (the usual seminar size is also quite small so that you can ask questions). "
