" The quality of the courses depends heavily on the teacher/supervisor of that course. There are some difficult courses with disagreeable teachers but also some that teach well and seem to care about the students. Overall I would say this is an average German university, the computer science courses tend to have a little more practical work included than in some other universities. "

" Very young and modern university. Friendly teaching staff, great fellow students and a place to call a "second home" (especially as you spend most of your days there). Would always recommend and wished I hadn't only started here in my Master's degree, but already also done my Bachelor here. "

" The Uni has a good structure and I have not really any complaints. In my Major, we didn't have any classes that we had to attend other than exercise courses that reserved a spot for you, so that's understandable. Overall the Uni is a save place to go to, the people are nice and you can find help for anything. There is also a lot of different support you can get if you need it. "

" The university is a solid institution. Not the best reputation regarding high quality teaching (there are universities in Germany where you learn more, particularly if you are interested in computer science), but I was satisfied. Parking situation is not the best (no parking spaces if you arrive later than 10 AM), but public transport is very well connected. Living in Duisburg is cheap (very cheap compared to big cities such as Cologne or Berlin). If you are searching for a vivid university with interesting communities and nightlife, Duisburg is probably NOT suited for you: Most students live in other cities nearby (often still with their parents) and just shuttle to lectures. Hence, student bars and student social live is unincisive. "

" Solid choice for many subjects with good support for spending a year abroad during studies. Good public transport available. "
