" This is one of the best universities of the country. The physics department has great active astrophysics and theoretical physics research groups, internationally well known for their pioneering work. I would definitely recommend it to anyone that wants to go into astrophysics or theoretical physics. The teachers are always there for you and very supportive. If you give 1 unit of effort, you'll receive 10x back from them, at least. Hard work gets recognized. Also, the university has a research facility near by (FORTH/ITE) that contains labs for lasers, and there's also an astronomical observatory at a mountain near by, the Skinakas observatory. This observatory has been very active and was a great tool for the astrophysical research the astrophysics research team does. If I had to choose again, I'd choose this university. Finally, it is well connected with all the well known universities and physics departments around the world and more specifically the US. "

" The Heraklion campus is divided into different buildings, according to one's school (e.g. Math, Computer Science, Medicine, etc.). It is clean and safe for students. There is a regular bus transportation from the city centre to the campus. "

" Very difficult to rate during coronovirus time!!!The university is located in two cities Herakleion and Rethimno with campuses on both cities.The environment of study is nice although not much formal or professional as a nord European University.
Collateral educational activities are interesting but you need to search a bit to uncover them.
Since both Herakleion and Rethimno are cities that base thei economy on the tourist industry there is much night life, especially during the turistic season. "
