" There will be a new college (Waterford University) in Waterford which will have links to Waterford IT. Waterford IT is one of the top colleges in Ireland which provides excellent services to its students. Waterford IT has great partnerships with many companies these companies look to employ some of the students in Waterford IT which in turn fund for the students education etc. "

" The lecturers and staff at WIT are generally very helpful and respectful. Discussion is encouraged in classes and ample time and support is given for assignments. The canteens also offer a variety of reasonably priced foods. However, it should be noted that finding parking space on the Cork Road campus is exceedingly difficult. Lecturer's are aware and understanding of this issue as it affects them too. Furthermore, while there is ample space for studying on campus, the WiFi signal is quite poor, sometimes not connecting at all. It should also be noted that there is, at present, no requirement of work placement as part of the BA (hons) Psychology course, but rather a dissertation must be submitted in the final year. "

" Overall a nice institute close to the city center, however, there was a lack of computers in the Library and only one or two copies of the book you wanted. This meant if your class was meant to read a book for the following week it was basically first come first serve. Professors are nice and social science is a great course to go into if you are at a loss as to what to do, it opens a lot of doors. "

" Positives: - Most of the staff/lecturers/students are friendly. - Easy to find your way around the campus. - International/visiting students always say the place is friendly and they usually enjoy their experience at WIT. - Most lecturers will make time for you if you want to discuss anything. (Most of) The lecturers will respond to emails within 24 hours (excluding holidays/weekends) - Easy to upload assignments online via 'Moodle' - Library: (see below for the negatives) The library is big and looks really nice. It has a really nice feel so it. It's split into 3 floors: Basement: Quiet study area Ground floor: About 10 computers (which will be gone immediately when the library opens at 8:30am) and more quiet study areas 1st floor: Group work area, which is used a lot by people who want to hang with their friends. It's a very small floor so it'll be hard to get a seat unless it's super early/super late. 1st floor also contains space for post-grad students only. - Class schedules: You could have huge gaps in between classes on your course. I’m talking 2, 3, 4 hours in between. You could use this time to get work done in the library which would be great if it wasn’t for all the issues with the library (below) - The on-campus food options used to be absolutely awful but this year it has improved a lot. It’s still expensive though so I bring a packed lunch with me everyday. - There’s a really nice café on the main campus but unfortunately there’s limited seating available - Social scene: If you're into events, clubbing, drinking, going out on the town, then you'll love this college! There's always something on and the younger students seems to absolutely love it! There is also a bar on the main campus which also runs events. Negatives: - Parking: If you want to get a parking space at the college, then you'll need to be there before 8:30am which absolutely sucks if you don't have a class until 11, 12 etc. There will usually be spaces after lunch time so if your class starts at 1 or 2pm then you'll be fine. - Library: It's always freezing in there. Even with a coat, scarf & hat on I’ve had to leave because I’m so cold. There’s ALWAYS people talking and laughing in the basement floor which is the quiet study area which also leads me to leaving. The WiFi sucks! Unless there’s nobody in there, the WiFi will hardly work at all. My laptop couldn’t even pick up the signal to begin with so I bought a wifi dongle and it still sucks. Very slow speeds. Overall: I do not use the library to get study/work done. Only to pass time if there’s large breaks in between classes. - Classroom facilities: All the lecturers use the projectors in the classrooms to teach. Unfortunately it’s not unusual for them to just not work. Luckily, they usually get fixed within a day or 2. Chairs & tables in the classrooms: A lot of the rooms have very old chairs that look look and might have cracks i "
