" I was in the arts and design department so I can only speak for that. The facilities were terrible. Just one example would be students were expected to use specialised software on computers in the college to complete projects but there were only 3 computers in the department building and none of them worked. The design studio workshop for making product prototypes was rarely accessible to students. When it was accessible, the majority of equipment was either broken or could not be used as no one in the department could work it. Very few of the lectures had practical experience in the product design sector. The modules were random with few having any direct link to Product/industrial design. The projects were usually outdated and had been used for many years. This left students with very little high level work to add to their portfolios. 6 months after graduating less than 20% of students from my course year have found graduate level work. The Rest are either unemployed or are working in unrelated low skilled work. Of the 20% who have found graduate level work, not one person is employed in a product or industrial design role. Since graduating I have not been contacted by I.T. Sligo to see if I have found employment. To understand Whether a course is successful or not surely I.T. Sligo should be collecting information on the employment rates of graduates but for the course I completed they do not seem to be doing this. Overall I feel the course did not provide me with the skills needed to enter the design sector and I feel like it was a waste of 4 years. "

" The IT Sligo had an amazing environment for its location. You never felt overcrowded compared to other colleges. The location provided amazing scenery especially being along the Wild Atlantic Way. The campus is not too large and is the perfect size. Overall, good experience attending college here. "

" Overall it’s a nice college, the new buildings and classrooms have a lot to offer students. Most lecturers will do everything they can to help you out. There’s a good mix of students who attend. It’s located close enough to the town center that you can walk, close to cafes and stores. There’s a lot of nature in the area especially if you can drive around Sligo there’s some really Great Lakes and hikes to take some time for yourself. The college facilities are good, not perfect, but the library is easily accessible and you can get a lot of work done. "

" Buildings are modern and equipment is modern. WiFi available. Support, Library and Academic staff do their best to help you with any problems you may face, academically or otherwise. I like the college and my chosen course however it still requires further study on completion. The only complaint I would have about Sligo is that there is little for doing other than going out to pubs/clubs drinking, not very efficient clubs/societies in place within the college and little opportunity to actually meet people outside your course or from other colleges. I would highly recommend Health Science and Physiology, especially if you are unsure as to what exact area in health you wish to work. You can go into a variety of jobs/courses within the health discipline after. Library facilities and staff are excellent, no complaints. Accommodation was fair, within close proximity to the college. Nightlife and social scene is good but it can be challenging for somebody who doesn't really like the pub/nightclub kind of scene. Very difficult to make friends and mingle with other people otherwise. "
