" Good place to further learn, though different departments have better facilities than others. This university pulled themselves up after being decimated by earthquakes and is getting better every year. My husband spent 9 years at this university and recently got his PhD and I have spent just under 5 years here. Its fosters a good relationship vet ween student and academic and from my experiences in the linguistics and statistics departments, the postgrads are treated like part of the faculty family. "

" The professors were hit and miss, for my computer programming course. There was almost no lecturer involvement and it was mainly just information from YouTube videos they made. I have had many great teachers who all come off as approachable and there to help bar a certain Adrian McDonald. Social life is pretty alright, I recommend starting or joining a study group to make friends. "

" University of Canterbury is largely geared towards engineering, who take up a large proportion of the university population.
As an engineering student, I can say that the facilities and operations are definitely sufficient, and UC is currently undergoing major renovations/rebuild to further improve these facilities.
For prospective engineers in the Oceania region, UC is a great option. "
