" It is one of the best universities for Computing related degrees. The teaching staff is highly adept! The sports facilities have been upgraded this past year so there's a lot more to do now. In addition the schedule of annual events makes sure you'll never just be buried in your books all the time. Highly Recommended! "

" Great university, both academic and social life-wise. Academics have seen improvement in the past couple of years. Classes are a lot of fun. You could attend any class at any time if, you are not interested then you may get out and roam around. "

" Limited number of courses are offered in any of the programs. Very rigid about dress codes. Brutal schedules. Less social scene. Very few to no parties. Good computer science programs. No advance courses for electives. "

" Fast NUCES Lahore is one of the leading institutes of Pakistan. Faculty is qualified and works hard for the future of students on campus. this place is highly competitive and provides all the academic resources to its students. Extra curricular activities are rare and sports related facilities are very limited. Overall it is a relatively small campus but standards of education are very high. "

" During my under-graduation from FAST-NUCES, I realized:
High standards when it comes to computing courses.
Conceptual exams; they make you analyse things critically or else you fail. That's why it's either easy to earn B/B+ without much effort or to get a straight F grade. If you are coming from a FSC background then expect a bit of beating in the first semester ; the A/O level background helps for a smooth transition during the first semester.
I did telecom engineering yet the bunch of CS courses I studied made me able to purse a good career in embedded software development. Back in those days we used to frustrate about why CS courses were inflicted upon us EE students. Later we had nothing but lots of thanks for the person(s) who set the CS oriented curriculum.
Finally, don't go for CS if you are not into it! It's a stressful job domain and there are better ways to find lucrative career paths. Therefore, go for the field which you really want to pursue.
However, there were definite drawbacks too which I understood later on during my professional career.
The most important one was a lack of 'Growth oriented' educational model. In plain words, I had no idea what industry required me to be. We only relied on our 'talent' model and oozing confidence of being to solve anything.
For engineering (for CS), I would still recommend FAST but LUMS is probably a better option now if you can afford their fee structure.
In the end it does not matter which university you study. Where there is a will, there is a way. Lack of fund must not stop you from achieving excellence. Remember, it’s just 4 years of your life to grind a bit, considering you have the natural knack for the profession!
At the least, all one needs to do is to pursue a university degree from any university, meanwhile, you can follow online courses; assignments and tutorials provided for free by top ranked universities world wide. "
