" The university of minho has been a good experience. I can only speak about my experience as a PhD student. I recommend that new students visit the site as it is quite explicit. The university is well located, in a pleasant and green area. "

" Overall, it is a great university for local and international students. For internationals, especially when talking about programs provided in English like some Master's and Ph.D. programs. Example: the Ph.D. program of business administration (School of Economics and Management). The university is doing some really good efforts to go more internationalization. "

" There was not much in the area around Gualtar campus before the University set in so that part of the city is really all about the University - the bars, the restaurants, the housing, the different stores and services - everything sort of exists to cater to the students and academic staff.
This University is a reference for areas of study such as Psychology, Sciences and Engineering. It has very qualified professors and the administrative staff is always welcoming and supportive.
The course I attended was known to have a lot of problems (I don't know if they are solved now). Because it was under the sigil of Confucious institute, it was like a parallel world when compared to other courses, even languages ones. The failure and dropout rates were quite outrageous and for some disciplines, the students were asked to pay for their exams (the actual copies...). Favouritism was also a big problem - even scholarships to study abroad were affected by it. The upside was that, if so inclined, the students could really bound with the professors and rely on them for help. "
