" Taiwan is a good place for Mandarin speakers, but it can be challenging for non-Mandarin speakers.NSYSU provides students with several academic and non-academic facilities and services, including a library, housing, sports facilities, financial aid and scholarships, study abroad and exchange programs, online courses, and distance learning opportunities. NSYSU has a strong presence in fields like Engineering, Medicine & Public Health, and Natural Science. To help students meet living expenses, most programs provide scholarships to eligible TEEP participants, with an MOE-mandated maximum stipend of 15,000 NTD per month. The cost of living is relatively low compared to Taipei. A single person’s monthly costs are around $849, and a family’s costs are about $1,794. TEEP participants will be placed in a laboratory, research unit, enterprise, or elementary/secondary school and provided with opportunities to attend seminars, Chinese language courses, and cultural activities to enhance their professional capabilities. NSYSU has a vibrant international student community. The university organizes various activities & events for international students.
Visitors have described the campus as historic and good for a walk. Kaohsiung, Taiwan, offers a good quality of life. Overall, studying in Taiwan and at NSYSU can be an enriching experience that combines academic learning with cultural exploration. "
