Nottingham Trent University (NTU) is a public university located in the UK city of Nottingham. The university dates back to 1843 when it opened as the Nottingham Government School of Design. It became a polytechnic in 1970, and was granted university status in 1992. It's currently one of the highest ranked UK Universities on the site.

With the motto ‘shaping futures’, NTU offers over 500 different degree programmes to around 27,000 students across three campuses (City, Clifton and Brackenhurst), overseen by nine different academic schools. A £350 million investment in recent years has led to significant developments in NTU’s estate, including the regeneration of two Grade II* listed buildings, Newton and Arkwright, which include a glazed centre court with walk-round balcony, cafes, deli-bars and student services. If you're a current or former student, why not submit a review of Nottingham Trent University and let others know about your experiences.!

" Good uni but not had full experience as I live at home. Staff are all so lovely and easy to speak to and the social life is really good - always events and student nights on - everything is quite close together as well "

" Nottingham Trent University is overall a really good choice for Social Sciences. The City Campus has a lot to offer as it's located in the City Centre. The courses are well prepared to ensure that the graduates have a chance of finding good employment after graduating. The staff are always willing to talk to students about the taught subjects, even outside the lecture theatres. The Student Support Services are here to ensure that students feel comfortable with assessments and are willing to help with their mental health when needed as well as help 1st-year students with the transition to student life. NTSU - student union - offers many different opportunities including societies, student discounts as well as part-time jobs. Employability team works on the campus to provide help to the students who need to work on their CV, and prepare them for interviews as well as hosting multiple events and workshops to boost students' technical, technological and soft skills. " My course, Costume Design & Making ( now changed to Design for Stage and Screen ) has been, simply put, a bootcamp experience. Mostly in a good way. The workload has often been pretty overwhelming, but it has pushed the boundaries of what I can produce. Turnover of work is typically justified with "that's how they do it in the industry" so there are periods of time where you just have to work fast on your feet. A vocational course for sure, which means you genuinely have to love what you do, otherwise you will struggle. Not necessary to have previous sewing experience as first year teaches you the basics but, it will put you further ahead if you do. The course seems to be changing a lot so you're up to date with the industry. Some really amazing staff as well, who nurture and support your talents with the knowledge they have from their active careers in their teaching fields (inclusive of most, if not all, courses). Lots of 1:1 tutorials, either optional, personal conversations or scheduled meetings about your work. Overall, I would say that not everyone would have quite the same positive opinion as I do (there are certainly flaws in everyone's experience of anything) but I will definitely miss the vibe of this place. The city campus has some lovely spots to eat and work at, notably the Goldsmiths Cafe. I cannot say much about societies as I haven't joined any but there is a huge list available to choose from. Some would consider the city gym facilities as limited but, they are definitely sufficient by most standards. You can also take a tram to the Clifton campus, which has more available. "

" Great uni, lecturers are lovely and the course was taught really well. I commuted so can't comment on the living costs or experience of living in the city. I met some lovely people here and I felt part of a community of students. Lots of societies are available but they are very full and busy so it's difficult to make close friends in these. "

" Great university with a really good social life and a nice mix of students of different ages. I would definitely recommend it. Most of the academic staff are very helpful, respond quickly to emails, and are always willing to support you if you need it. "
