 " I am currently here as a PhD candidate, but I also completed my MA at this University. For my field the department here is excellent and the environment very motivating, with plenty of opportunities for knowledge exchange, interdisciplinary connections, and supportive supervision. As a PhD candidate, the experience is a little different! But during my MA I had a great time with all the social, sport, and academic activities on offer. "

 " My Phd supervisors are excellent and highly regarded in my field, I have regular supervision meetings and Graduate Study Days are held on a regular basis which gives you an opportunity to present your research, and to listen to other people's presentations from masters students upwards. Seminars and reading groups are also organised regularly, and researchers from other universities are often asked to present. Apart from the academic side, these times are a great opportunity to get to know other students and staff in the department and further afield. This is particularly important for me as a part time student living outside Sheffield. With this sort of setup there is always the risk of becoming isolated. However, this has not been my experience at all. "

 " I have really enjoyed my time at this university! There are a lot of resources and the social life is great. Unfortunately my department wasn't the best and not the most supportive but I believe that other departments are a lot better. There are great resources at the university too and I would recommend it to anyone who likes a good social scene, activities and sports. There are many societies and events on all throughout the year and the few I have been a part of have been lovely- they have been well organised and I have met amazing people. "

 " There's a lack of diversity in the University, as most of the students come from the same countries. Master courses were not very good, but PhD courses were very good with more diversity in the student composition, as long as I am aware. There are only a few university libraries, which are a bit shame to be honest "

 " I have absolutely loved attending the University of Sheffield. I did my undergraduate here and I am not doing my masters here as well. The city itself is beautiful and feels a lot safer than the majority of cities I have visited. "
