" A good university, and a great city! Lots to do both in the city centre and in the surrounding areas. Quickly becoming a student city with opportunities for work along with studies. Lots of bars and restaurants to enjoy. "

" Decent University, however there are some shortcomings. The support is very different between different subject areas, and even sometimes within the same course things aren't exactly consistent. However, there are some redeeming members of staff, and good opportunities. "

" As an International/EU student, Hallam was the perfect choice, because I needed to work next to my studies to earn a living, and the workload was easily balancable with my job, but if you are aiming for a serious, successful academic career, focusing 100% on your studies, then I wouldn't recommend it at all.
International students are constantly overlooked and ignored, the food on the campus is ridiculously expensive, aboslutely not student-budget friendly, and you have to HUNT DOWN the Hallam Help administrative staff if you need them. People with urgent mental health issues have to wait a minimum of 6 months to even get on a list for counselling. The approach to online teaching was horrendous and disgraceful. I generally feel bad for my teachers because they are the loveliest people and the best professors I've ever had, and it really shows that the problems do not arise on a staff/teacher but on a management level. The university started this academic year with no safety net to secure fair grading, requiring students to perform the same standards, whilst cutting our resources into half.
However, I absolutely loved the social aspects of my journey here. There is plenty of societies to choose from so everyone finds 'their crowd', my fellow students are amazing and everyone is generally so friendly. "

" It's a good uni, with a good range of sources available and offers a wide range of courses. Close to the town centre so easy to get to. Staff are nice. Course is sometimes delivered on Teams but also in the uni itself. "

" Overall, the course was interesting and has supported me to pursue my desired career. Facilities on campus are contemporary, and several very nice though increasingly expensive accommodations in the city centre. Would definitely recommend "
