" Pros: -My major (JMC) - awesome professors, fun curriculum -Disability Resources - very helpful and supportive if that's something you need -Student organizations - 100+ orgs on a campus of this size is impressive, lots of opportunities to get involved in something you're passionate about -Prospective student experience - lots of scholarship opportunities, very intentional process (from current students to campus recruiters to chairs of academic departments), events to go to to meet other prospective students, etc. -Traditions - StepSing, YSYC, Lighting of the Way, etc. -Tons of on-campus events - there's always something going happening on the quad -Study abroad - great programs, they have their own "campus" in London Cons: -In spite of having Division-1 athletics, students aren't great fans of the teams... kinda sad for the student-athletes when their peers leave campus on the weekends to visit nearby SEC schools instead of going to Samford games -It's a private school in the South, so you're going to have some snooty rich people -Expensive - be sure to look into scholarship opportunities, though, as they offered the most of any private schools that I looked into -The cafeteria is literally horrific -The on-campus parking situation sucks -Having to go to convocation can be a real pain Neutral (just things to consider): -It's a Christian school, so yes, there are going to be more rules and you're held to a higher standard than you would be elsewhere -You can be a goody two shoes and be just fine here, on the other hand; if you want to party, you can certainly find people like you as well - both sides of the spectrum are well-represented -Because it's a smaller school, you get more focused attention from teachers, university admin, advisors, etc. - can be a really great thing, but can make it hard to skip class (although in my experience most profs didn't care) "
