" So far, I have really enjoyed attending college at UAB. Because of COVID-19, all my classes are remote this semester (and I live at home), so I can't really speak for the quality of their housing, dining facilities, social scene, etc. What I can speak for is their fantastic academics. They have classes in literally anything you might be interested in. Speaking as a history and English major, their classes range from classes about history shown through film to women's history classes to LGBTQ+ history classes to your traditional Western history classes. Their English classes are even more diverse, from Medieval and Arthurian literature classes to classes about love literature to technical writing classes to African American literature classes to super fascinating creative writing seminars. All the faculty is amazing as well, and always so willing to help you with whatever you need. I love meeting with my professors to discuss papers and projects or just chat about our shared academic interests. UAB isn't a party school, so if that's what you're looking for, then this isn't the place for you. But, if you're looking for a school that is full of resources to help you succeed academically and will give you tons of opportunities to take your academic accomplishments and apply them in the workplace, then this is a great school for you!
