" Incredible university for anybody interested in research and field work. Teachers care and give you so much attention. Fantastic for those interested in polar studies, astronomy or fisheries. Very happy to have learned of this university while in High School. We have a rocket range (Poker Flat Research Range), and Ionosphere heater (HAARP), a research vessel (R/V Sikuliaq), and much more!
I would recommend this university especially to those who come from out of state, as living in Alaska is such a unique experience. For what it lacks in a social scene, it more than makes up for in the outdoorsy scene. "

" Just started, but liking it so far. It’s a great place to get whatever goal you have accomplished. They give plenty of resources for such cold climate and more than might be expected in bush Alaska. People are decent and I haven’t had a problem since coming here. The tuition is also fair. "

" Love the location and the atmosphere. Overtime can feel really isolating. Need more support for Alaskans to receive an education. Overall, an amazing once in a lifetime experience attending a Master's program here. "
