" CLU is a really great interdisciplinary school for those who want a well rounded education. The class size is small enough that you can really get to know your professors if you want to, and it is generally a friendly and welcoming environment. Even though it has "Lutheran" in the name there are plenty of people who are not religious who attend this school, and it is a very inclusive and low-key environment. Highly recommend. "

" Everything is expensive as hell here, so take that into account, especially for the quality of the food. The faculty are really nice though, and there's a wide range of support options for career and personal development. "

" Decent school in nice area outside of Los Angeles. Not a lot of social activity or organizations but primarily services the local area and commuters. Many professors were adjunct and not necessarily committed to the school or program. "

" This is a nice private University with small class sizes that allow for more dialogue with the professors. I attended a graduate program at the Oxnard campus so I cannot speak much on the traditional undergraduate experience on the main campus. Like any University, the administration could always be improved. "

" California Lutheran University is a small college that focuses on student success. While the social scene is not the best, making friends is relatively easy and the majority of students are more than welcoming. The campus feels safe to walk around at night and is very well lit. Security takes time to patrol and is fast to respond. They also offer rides to students who need one (such as someone who doesn't want to walk alone at night). In terms of facilities, I would rank some better than average while others below average. The gym (free) is fantastic. I love that parking is free for all students, but I hate that there is almost no parking if you come later in the day. I would rather pay and be guaranteed a spot. The food options are decent. Starbucks is nice to have, but takes a long time for orders and often messes them up. Jamba Juice also takes quite a while. Ulman Commons is a waste of money and just isn't worth it. When looking at things that to do nearby...... Yeah. No. Los Angeles is a drive. Santa Barbara is a drive. Nothing is close by and walking really isn't an option to get around. YOU NEED A CAR IF YOU COME HERE. One thing that is nice is there is a Trader Joes within walking distance, but other than that, eh. Overall, I would say come here if you are looking for a small school to succeed academically at. Some professors are wonderful. Others are horrific. But in general, I would recommend this school (however it won't be for everyone). "
