" It's a good institution and a good option, especially for local people. In my area of study, it is obvious that the professors enjoy their work, and that is a big plus when you are trying to learn. It is in the downtown area, which can be pretty crowded, but there are multiple things to do around with friends. "

" Great place to go to school located in the heart of Silicon Valley! Guaranteed great education with access to state of art technology on Campus. So many opportunities to work in prestigious organizations in Silicon Valley who are partnered with SJSU. Really recommend the university if you are interested in research! "

" For the fee that you are paying, I feel the education and resources are worth it. It's Value for Money. The faculty is talented in my department. The courses taught in my department can have an upgrade. "

" It's a great school with a lot of networking potential in the downtown area of San Jose. There's pros and cons to attending just like any other school. For socialization in particular, SJSU is great for networking and internships, but a lot of students are commuters because it's generally just too expensive to live in the area on a student budget. So building and maintaining friendships tends to be limited sometimes for some people, particularly commuters. I am not a commuter, but I also have never lived on campus. And you might get run over by someone texting on an electric scooter or skateboard because it's really crowded on some days. That's why I gave that part 3 stars. The people tend to be friendly and interested in learning more about each other since so many people come from all different places around the world though, so that's a bonus. The cost of living is also a huge problem, but if you have money to go or are willing to take student loans, it can be worth it in the long run if you put the time and focus in on developing your skills instead of (primarily) partying. The school has a food bank and emergency help for homeless students just in case, which is amazing. Unfortunately being downtown in a HCOL area also brings issues of homeless people and/or vandals/ thieves coming on campus looking for bikes here and there- the campus has police alert buttons all over the place though, so you're never too far from it if you need it. Off campus it gets sketchy, but there's a lot of things in walking distance not too far away, like milk tea, philz coffee, food, 7/11, amazon locker, MLK library. Impaction is very high, particularly in the computer sciences and animation; most majors are somewhere between fairly to very competitive at SJSU. Lastly: the food court on campus has a taco bell, panda express, and milk tea. There's also a convenience store with Japanese goodies and poke. "

" Duplicate review I think this is an okay institution. So far, all of my professors are quite enjoyable and it is easy to tell they do genuinely like what they teach, which is important. I can't say much about the overall in-person experience since I've only spent a semester and a half there, but the library is a nice place, and the food options can be better in the dining hall. "
