 " My experiences are to be taken with a grain of salt, since I've only been attending for one semester so far. I don't feel like I've really gotten a full experience of what it means to be a UC Davis student. In addition, I've already had two very mediocre professors, but this might be more of an issue with the engineering department specifically. "

 " The downtown area and general college town atmosphere were the main selling point for me, and four years later I'm still very happy with my choice. People are very nice here and willing to help each other out. Most of the problems are things you would find at most universities - not enough parking, not great student support, administration that only cares about money, etc. Since it is a research university, there are lots of research opportunities, but that also means that some professors are really only there to do research and are bad at teaching.  " I've absolutely fallen in love with the community that Davis has to offer. Everyone here is so nice, more than willing to genuinely help each other out, but also very professional and career oriented. Students are both ambitious but also caring and considerate of their peers. Our chancellor is pretty cool too ngl, he's an amazing guy who cultivates a really nice campus culture for students.  " Overall, a very chill and quiet environment. It is a good getaway from the bustling city that many students are down to earth. The students are enthusiastic in sharing their clubs and interests. I wish there were more lights installed on campus because it does get very dark in Davis and there are not many areas which as well lit, which makes me feel anxious for any stranger dangers. I love that the cafeterias has themes sometimes and make their foods to that theme. There are a lot of local and small businesses surrounding Davis you can support, even the weekend farmers market!  " Amazing place to go to school! Small town vibes but with a super lively downtown right up against campus where people go to hang out on a Friday night. Friendly and safe, people will hold doors for you and start up conversations :) I love it here! "
