" I would say i wish my university had more team spirit, it's hard since there was no football team but i personally enjoy going to sporting events and there just want as much opportunity for that. Another thing about this school I didn't love was the lack of student to student support. classmates around you, for the most part, don't want you to do well. its very competitive and everyone wants to come out on top. " Great for studying, but the social scene is lacking. I did meet my best friends here though. I really enjoyed my time in the education abroad program which let me study abroad in Taipei. My favorite part about this school is the huge gym called RIMAC. Great for powerlifters. "

" UCSD overall has been great so far. The university has been constructing new facilities and dining halls for my college (within UCSD). For me, there were only minor inconveniences here and there but other than that it's great to study here. "

" UCSD isn't a terrible place, but it's definitely research-oriented and what you get isn't just dependent on what you put in, but on what courses you take and what major you are. For instance, though rigorous, the computer science program prepares you well for the workforce; the downside is that unless you get accepted as a CS major, you can only join the major through a lottery system and after passing certain pre-requisite courses. UCSD is located in a hub of technological and biological-science-focused companies, so it's easy to find work at a start-up or in the area. The class sizes are huge (my smallest was 30, my largest was 300+). It's easy to blend in with the crowd, but it makes it doubly harder to get noticed by professors. If you are considering graduate school, you would definitely have to go to professor office hours to communicate more. Despite this, the professors are generally very nice people and are always willing to help out. They're also empathetic; I've never had a professor who's enforced harsh deadlines and smacked on a top on work. They understand the student's struggles and actually try to help. "

" If I could do it over again, I think I would be more involved in the campus activities. Like, join student government, and try out as many clubs as you can and find out what fits you. I think what you put in is what you get out of it. So networking early is really essential to making it in any industry. Academics is important, but also, don’t forget to put yourself out there. "
