" Being a psychology student, I found all of my professors were extremely immersive in the class. All of them taught upper level and graduate courses as well. My psychology courses never went over 35 students, the biggest class I had was college algebra which was around 60 students. There is a huge variety of clubs on campus for any type of lifestyle. If you are interested in Greek life there is no Greek housing, all of the organizations get a house off campus. There is no football team but I really enjoyed baseball over football anyway so that's not bother me. The Boston Red Sox spring training field is only about a 25 minute drive from the campus. There are about four main bars that everyone goes to so it is easy to be in the scene. And the beach is only a 20 minute drive so I was going to the beach in between classes some days. Off-campus housing is pretty affordable, I myself lived in a apartment with three others and I paid 550 a month which is much lower than what I paid in Orlando. Of course there are other options that or higher quality and higher priced as well. On campus dorms are expensive but the freshman village is amazing and you get your own private bedroom in all villages. "

" Very happy with the decision to transfer to FGCU. I have found opportunities here that I orginally didnt think possible. I would recommend this school to anyone. Only issue to parking, but isnt that an issue everywhere.? "

" I love everything about this school and have genuinely felt to have found my second home here. The majority of professors truly care about the students and want to see them succeed. The campus is absolutely beautiful, with one half of the land that's owned being a nature preserve. Class sizes are comfortable (an average of 33). I've been connected to opportunities that I didn't even know existed, like traveling to NYC and spending time with a Native American tribe in New Mexico. Campus housing feels luxurious in comparison to many other schools (every student has their own bedroom, no communal/hallway bathrooms). Not to mention, there's a waterfront where students can rent kayaks, paddleboards, sailboats, or reserve a timeslot on the speedboat to go tubing or wakeboarding. 100% recommend FGCU. "

" Florida Gulf Coast University is on a great location for anyone living in Southwest Florida. Tuition is more affordable than most campuses. However, as of 2020, parking is difficult to find for all students. Although not much of a negative, university requirements include an Environmental "Colloquium" course, nine summer credit hours, and eighty service learning hours. Registration for classes is first-come-first-serve, therefore joining ideal classes prove difficult. However, FGCU offers priority registration for FGCU Honors. If you have a high enough GPA, I recommend you apply, even if registration is the only reason. Becoming a member does not cost anything, and it will be much easier to find classes with the best professors. Finally, I recommend you take in-person classes. Although online classes are convenient, the grading and timer is more severe, and you are less likely to find extra credit opportunities. "

" I went to that college and had the best time overall. I joined many clubs, followed our sports team and loved the close by beach. FGCU emphasizes innovative, student-centered teaching and learning, promotes and practices environmental sustainability, embraces diversity, nurtures community partnerships, values public service, encourages civic responsibility, and cultivates habits of lifelong learning and the discovery of new knowledge "
