" I'm a mechanical engineering student at the Savannah camps of Georgia Southern University. I have taken seven courses in total at this moment. I believe this school can be an okay option for you if you're planning to majoring in anything other than engineering. The science and engineering courses available each semester are not a lot, possibly because there just not enough student in these majors. However, some of the professors are very talented and helpful. For example, my math professor who taught me calculus and differential equations are very knowledgeable and organized. I learned a lot in his classes. Some other professors have teaching styles that might not be suitable for most of the students, and are less passionate about the subjects. "

" This is a great school to challenge you academically, as well as get you out of your comfort zone. There are many organizations to take advantage of. There are also plenty of volunteer opportunities to take advantage of. Many of the buildings are up to date as well. "

" Great small-town feel at a D1 football school. Football games are the place to be at home game Saturdays. After all, it is "The Prettiest Little Stadium in America." The amenities offered by the school are nice and many of the buildings have been recently built or renovated. Although there is a ton of old character in sweetheart circle on campus. Highly recommend! "

" Georgia Southern is a D1 football school meaning that football games are everything, people are passionate, people are drunk, etc. There isn't much diversity here, and there has multiple instances where people clashed. This is something I would pay attention to if you are POC, LGBTQ, non-Christian, etc. You may feel very uncomfortable here initially because this is a conservative, dangerously southern, white-majority school. A lot of these people have limited or no experience of people who aren't like them, and they can be easily offended. Other than that, academically this school serves in MOST areas. Some areas are not as strong. The campus is really pretty, you can expect to have things done in a timely manner by administration, and the food is great. BUT the meal plan is crazy expensive, so you might want to learn how to cook. As far as the dorm situation goes, 9/10 your room is small, but most dorms are suite style so at least you don't have to share your sleeping quarters? Some housing were semi-modern while others were very old and unfinished. This led to roaches and ants coming in. It wasn't cute. I do not recommend this school to anyone who : - looking for diversity - looking to sight see or have moves (nothing to do here) - is a creative/artsy person looking for "the stuff you see on tv" (I'd recommend a city school for that) - does not like the heat - does not a party school "

" Georgia southern is a pretty good sized campus located in a smaller town but pretty close to Savannah for any weekend travels. The campus has plenty of living options, some in more safe areas than others, but all good quality. I was very impressed with the extracurricular activities and clubs that the school provided for it's students. I actually transferred here for my last year and they did well in accepting me and helping me transition but they were unfortunately not very good in the advising sector. I was not properly advised so that I could graduate on time and had to do most of that by myself. Their summer and excursion programs were the best, though! There was short break excursions to volunteer places, travel classes abroad, and many other fun things to travel to. Lastly, the classes were very good. I took some very large classes, some smaller, and some online ones I learned so much in the few courses I took at Georgia Southern than my previous classes and loved the layout of each and every one. One problem I had was there were too many core classes so I didn't have too much time to learn my actual major. "
