 " I both loved and somewhat disliked my time at Loyola. What you get out of your experience here really all depends on your personal circumstances, and how much you put into your classes/extracurriculars/social life. While the school was very well equipped and had good academic and non-academic resources, I do feel like the student body and staff were hit or miss. 

Go here if: you are white, have a lot of money, are from an upper-middle class or upper class background, and are a self-motivated student. Otherwise, you will likely have a better (and more affordable) college experience (and get better grades) at a more diverse state school. "

 " Loyola has a lovely campus on Lake Michigan. However, I wouldn't say it's safe. There's numerous crime reports in the area at all times of the day. The professors I had were either really great or made me want to reconsider my major. They've got great resources to aid students in academic tutoring and disability accommodations. The school itself is very expensive as it's a private institution, even with grants and scholarships the tuition still goes up every year so be prepared to leave with quite a bit of debt. "

 " Pretty decent college. Perfect size if you're not looking for anything too big. The professors in the sociology department were truly engaging. Only down side is not a lot of classes are scheduled when they say they are. "

 " Overall LUC was a fun little University to attend.  Recently they've been expanding the University and the area around so I expect it to be even better for future generations.  Main issue really is that it is EXPENSIVE but really, what university these days aren't? "

 " Loyola is an amazing school full of wonderful people, a very rigorous academic program with phenomenal teaching staff. Chicago is a beautiful city with lots to do all year round, very accessible without needing a car, public transportation is reliable and mostly safe. "
