" The academics are great, but living on campus isn’t always the greatest experience. The residence halls need to be updated, and dining services isn’t very accommodating to students with dietary restrictions. The town also isn’t a great college town; there’s practically nothing within walking distance of the campus, and the town itself isn’t very nice. However, I loved the people I met there. The community is one part that I really loved. "

" Wheaton is a great school with a great Christian community. The academics at Wheaton are rigorous, but the faculty are very supportive. It's not a party school, but the students find other ways to have fun. I would recommend Wheaton to anyone looking for a liberal arts education with the integration of Christian faith. The food has decreased in quality in recent years, but its better than other colleges food-wise. Don't take the news about the college as representative of the student body as a whole. "

" Wheaton College is a truly wonderful place if you are straight, white, and male. I had a fine time in my four years. It's an evangelical Christian college that takes its faith seriously, so one consequence of this is staff and students at-large are pretty judgy over matters of (for example) sex, substance use, and profanity. The campus is beautiful (especially in autumn), people are generally friendly, your professors are smart, and they definitely care about you learning as a student and growing as a person. I had a great experience learning communication in the classroom and my extracurriculars I got involved in had true real-world application for my career direction and the kind of person I grew into.
I believe Wheaton College is a very well-intentioned place. However, I chose to not come out as a gay man (with no intention of lifelong celibacy) until after I left. I feared dealing with the administration. Wheaton postures itself as an open-minded institution of high intellectual integrity and for the most part, I believe it is, but in matters related to sexual orientation and gender identity, it is very difficult to hold any sort of fair conversation with the President and Chaplain's offices about the lived lives of their LGBTQ students. I don't regret having gone to Wheaton, but I'm pretty sure I would not choose it again if I made the decision over. "
