" I've only been here for one semester but so far it is a good experience. The building's are up to date, staff and faculty are all very nice and there are plenty of safety features. The only thing I think could be better is the price but that goes for all colleges. "

" USI is great if you're looking for an inexpensive university experience. Tuition and housing are both really managable, and the campus is nice and well-maintained, but there's nothing spectacular about it. The administration doesn't seem to be too concerned with teachers being shorted their raises or not receiving adequate benefits, but works very hard to schmooze the president and all the donors. This may explain some of the deline in attendance. It's also a dry campus which isn't very fun, and although there are some decent dining options to choose from, all but 2 of them close by 3pm every day which can make finding dinner hard or monotonous. I've had some really wonderful professors at USI, and I'm grateful I'll be finishing my undergrad with a minimal amount of debt, but I would really like to see the university take the concerns that have been raised seriously and improve the student and staff experience. "

" I love my experience here at USI, but in order for me to recommmd any university , they’d have to go above and beyond not only my initia expectations but the adjusted expectation as well. A school must have the desire to constantly improve and mature, but we still have some work on that side of things. The professors are amazing, campus is beautiful, clubs/organizations are great, and the administrators care, but there’s still more than can be done for its students. A lot can be said of an institution by the projects they choose to pursue but more so the projects they don’t. We understand new resources becoming available as a rarity, but when they do I believe it’s important to invest them back into the students not into a useless building.
My department of study is more like a family, and I have grown here but there’s more that can be done to update and modernize the curriculum. There’s more that can be done to diversify the faculty in both the department and the institution itself. There’s just more that can be done and whether or not it gets done is completely in the hands of the people who exist inside USI’s walls every day. "
