" I spent my first two years at UMass as a business management major. The courses weren't very interesting to me, and I found a passion for psychology in my personal interests and research aside from schools. When I switched my major, I was able to quickly get in touch with the chair of the psychology department and a few psychology advisors, all of who answered my questions on the types of courses I would take, how it would affect my progress to graduating, and possible career paths. Without their help, I would have probably held back on switching my major because of the lack of knowledge I had about the processes, and I have been more excited to come to school since then. "

" UMass Boston is a great institution with a social justice focus and a diverse student body. I have really enjoyed my time here. The psychology department is excellent. Primarily a commuter school, so not as much of a social scene as other schools, but lots of clubs and social supports on campus. "

" Great place very helpful, smart teacher very very smart, smart student very nice willing to help. Great resources to actively assist you in finding internship and careers as you graduate. There are many spot to self study and a quiet area for quiet study along with available tutor and flexible office hour with teachers willing to help you in your studies. "

" UMass Boston has a large student population, it’s very diverse and welcoming. Faculty are not all the best but what school does? I enjoy making friends and networking at school. During COVID-19, the school and faculty members did their best to accommodate to students. I appreciate the time and effort they took to help students with their studies. Workload is manageable and I tried my best to select courses that actually taught me something. Thankfully, there are a lot to choose from. "

" The campus felt really cozy. I seemed to make friends quickly there, and the area is really safe. I had a great advisor, but the bursar's office was slightly annoying. The dorms are really secure but they don't think they have a stove? or they only have one in one of the two buildings. There's plenty of places to study, and the waterfront view is nice. Librarians are very helpful. "
