" I am a mature student with an online degree of study UMass Lowell is much more low key and manageable coursework load than my undergrad school of Southern New Hampshire University. I just wish that UMass Lowell had a more majors of study. "

" This is a good program for the working professional to attain a doctoral degree while still maintaining professional presence. There are live meetings at least once/monthly and blended classes with virtual and online options. Although I was not an international student, there were many others in the program, and the richness of having many different experiences in on program was incredibility helpful as the courses progressed. " Overall a solid school, underrated for what it is. Excellent co-op program and amazing labs, some buildings are old but they are gradually updating them. From my experiences as an engineering student the professors are sometimes hit or miss but overall pretty good. Typically its the gen ed professors that are hit or miss but once you get into your major specific classes they tend to be more consistent. I will say where UML is lacking is the Administration. Individual departments tend to be fine but the overall campus administration is HORRIBLE and how they dealt with COVID really showed that. They are extremely last minute and are constantly changing their campus plans and are often tone deaf to students needs both pre and post covid. When I comes to the social scene it ranges. North Campus has a completely different feel/culture than south campus to the point it almost feels like different schools. Overall school spirit is kinda lacking. Hockey games are hype but there not much outside of that and I wouldnt say theres a common strong "identity" among students. It is a city school too and doesnt really feel like a traditional college (at least if ur on north, south is a different story) and that can be kinda a turn off for some people. They have a great club selection and its even pretty easy to start up your own. Greek life if kinda lacking as there is not many sororities/frats and they are all pretty small. Parties are ok, again the frats are kinda meh but there are constantly parties at the sports houses that make up for it. Off campus there is an amazing local music seen and people are constantly hosting shows out of there basements that are super fun. although lowell itself is kinda sketchy, it has a lot of hidden gems, good restaurants, and a good bar scene. It is "

" I do not attend this campus in person. I am an online student. I cannot speak to the on-campus experience. I will say that I am pleased with my experience online in the IT support, student-instructor ratio, etc. "
