" I am very happy with my choice of attending the University of Mississippi! The education I received set me up for the career I was hoping for. I have also loved living in Oxford- there is a huge emphasis on local restaurants and businesses, which everyone in the community strives to support. It is a perfect balance between having fun things to do, but not too chaotic/busy/distracting to the point where it negatively interferes with your studies. "

" The campus is very beautiful and offers a large variety of classes. However, it is very expensive, even by college standards. It is really difficult to find a place to rent that won't cost an arm and a leg. Generally, because of living expenses, I will travel out of town to get my hair done because it is half the price in surrounding areas. Unless you have help from your parents, it can be pretty gruesome keeping up with it all. The campus could have a bit more selection for food as well. There about 6 restaurant type places to eat at, which can get pretty stale after a couple of months. The campus could be improved by adding a couple more options -- especially for the people who live on campus. That being said, there is a lot of good things the school can offer. There is a good selection of classes, the teachers are generally enthusiastic and understanding, and the atmosphere for game day and other events keeps things lively on the weekends -- assuming you can afford to go. "

" I think the University of Mississippi is great and you have such a great time studying there. The campus is small enough so you don't a car but you don't feel like it small where you dont have enough facilities. Teachers are great and not much of them ask for attendance at least in criminal justice and political science field. However they could improve two things. Cafeterias where you use use meals plan are not great, only one is healthier, the Grill but it is the further from dorms. It is great for student athletes because its next to their facilities. They should have better quality in those cafeterias. They should also have more place to eat and more diversity because except at the student unions, there is almost no snacks or restaurants around campus. One Starbucks is not enough for example. They should improve parking as well. I can't say its bad, i know many more universities that are not even close to olemiss for that, but they could build more parking emplacements for students. "

" The quality of research opportunities here is questionable. If you're not prepared for life in the Deep South, this may not be the right fit. While it's often described as one of the more liberal areas of Mississippi, non-white students may still experience a sense of being closely watched or judged. It's important to consider the social environment carefully before deciding. "

" University of Mississippi is a good school in the SEC. I major in Political Science which has a good department. We have a great accounting program and good stem majors as well. The social scene is fun and campus is beautiful. "
