" Good experience as an online student. There wasn’t much of a social network of online students but that was okay with me. The education program provides many opportunities for hands-on learning including volunteering with local community organizations, shadowing teachers, student teaching, and guiding you as you conduct research in your classroom. " As a graduate student, there are some aspects of the UMSL experience that I don't feel I can accurately rate. I also spend most of my time on South Campus which is not as nice and has fewer student resources than North Campus. However, I really enjoy UMSL overall. It's extremely affordable for the area, and nearly all faculty and staff I've interacted with have been pleasant and helpful. North Campus is also really pretty with nice walking trails and a good amount of outdoor space. "

" I loved the professors I had -- they really seem to care. The campus is beautiful, particularly the newly built recreation center. I wish there were more parking spaces available - they built a new parking lot but its really for faculty and staff. "

" Excellent CACREP counseling program at both Masters and Doctoral level. Good opportunities for clinical work with onsite counseling center. Diverse faculty and student population. One of top programs nationally. High rate of employment after graduation. "

" Great school with community connections. They work with people from all walks of life and are not cocky about higher education. My program is on the south campus which is less developed. North campus is very pretty and has a lot of food options for students, a large student center, rec center, and theatre. "
