" I hate it here. If there is one piece of advice you should remember from reading this it is to not attend Bard College. The economics department is not mathematically rigorous at all and feels designed to be accessible at the expense of students who want a more serious quantitative focus. Academically it has been disappointing. The social environment has also not been a good fit for me. I have found the culture frustrating and at times immature, and many students I have met do not seem academically driven. The food is not great unless you have very specific dietary preferences. Overall, I feel that the institution prioritises accommodating the most demanding voices rather than maintaining strong standards across the board. Some professors are genuinely kind and the readings can be engaging, but that has not been enough to outweigh my overall experience. "

" I value the education I received at Bard. I appreciate the school's commitment to scientific literacy, critical thought, and independent major projects. Although it is a liberal arts institution, students who are interested in the sciences should also find plenty of opportunities. "

" Bard is really enjoyable as it has a more rural setting and the campus is spread out where most people have a 10 or so minutes walk to class, making it easy to enjoy the nature around without feeling seperated from the placed on campus. For me, the best part about Bard so far has been the central location of classes, the library, and the dining hall. Having them so close together makes living on campus really easy-going. Bard has at least 3 but maybe more, depending on your definition, places to eat with a good selection of food. There's always something to do on campus and clubs to be apart of. Everyone on campus is super accepting of others and supportive of each other. The one and only thing about Bard that isn't amazing, in my opinion, in the state of a couple roads. There are quite a few pot holes, but this really only matters if you drive a car (any year student can have a car on campus for a $200 fee). Bard is unique in that there is a 3 week program that takes place before the first semester mandatory for first years. My advice would be to not worry about this program if you're considering Bard as a college. The program was much easier than expected, but still extremely useful. When I was first accepted into Bard, this aspect stressed me out the most. Don't let this impact your decision because it's really useful in so many ways. Overall, Bard is really amazing and has great opportunities for any kind of person. "
