" A good choice for those living in the NYC area, as the campus is located in downtown Brooklyn. I did not use the sports facilities or dormitories, so I cannot comment on their quality. Overall, I'm satisfied with my experience with the professors in my field. "

" Great location, very expensive. I recommend living off campus if possible because the neighborhood of Fort Greene is beautiful and so fun to explore. The areas of study are fairly flexible. The librarians are wonder and helpful. "

" LIU Brooklyn is a good place but not the best. Good for what it has. Urban campus with facilities on campus for commuters . Could have more food options, but the existing ones are good. A lot of food options in the surrounding area. Administrative staff and financial aid are slow. "

" The biggest asset LIU has is its vibrant location in Downtown Brooklyn. The location is surrounded by most subway lines, it is growing and developing, and the close distance to the Brooklyn Bridge allows for lovely walks across the East River into downtown Manhattan in less than an hour for a relaxing way to exercise. I live in the graduate housing which has been ideal as I can use loans to pay for my housing. The price for my apartment is cheaper than the competitive real estate in the area making it a great deal. As for the Psychology program at LIU, it is simply unacceptable. There are so few classes, students are unable to choose from a variety, we must simply choose three of the four available classes to fill up our schedules. There are only two full-time professors in the Masters Program as of January 2019. One is a very kind but forgetful and unethical 93-year-old gentleman. His class is a very easy A in which I have learned nothing. The classes do not ask much of their students. Some of the classes simply retaught information I already had learned in undergrad. The college itself has been very unorganized. They double book classrooms leaving students and professors to always find a new space on our own to begin our class. Getting in contact with staff is difficult and answers often contradict each other. If you do not continue to call over and over, the information or task you need to be completed by the college will never get done. One of my biggest pet peeves with the school is its lack of consideration for graduate students. The career services are limited to undergraduates, they have undergraduate advising but no graduate advising, they do not have many, if any, graduate events, and I am constantly emailed about undergraduate issues when they have nothing to do with me. Additionally, the food hall is only open to undergraduates and the other two food locations are not open enough. If I have to get a meal plan, I would appreciate food being available to me.
If it were not for the school's location, I would not recommend this school. However, for me, getting my Masters is only a step I needed to take to be accepted into a Ph.D program. The school has allowed me to have a 4.0 GPA due to its ease, its location in NYC has allowed me to experience many amazing opportunities, and I have one professor who has been guiding me and giving me wonderful advice. In the end, the Psychology program is underfunded and the school is struggling financially. That is the root of the problems I have had. All of the school's money goes to the Pharmacy and Physical Therapy programs, leaving the Psychology department understaffed, with no elective classes, and no consideration for its graduate students.
