" I transferred from there. I was recruited as a student athlete and for a short while it was okay cuz I liked playing, but I was injured and then i realized that I disliked a lot about it. To preface, the academics are fabulous. All of my professors were super knowledgeable and supportive and credible, my classes pushed me and taught me things that have changed my perspective completely for the better. My academic advisor was fabulous and I knew many staff members who were just super amazing. Unfortunately the campus life was not for me.
Muhlenberg has a very small student body and if you aren’t either an athlete, a theatre student, or a member of a Greek life organization, I can’t say there will be much for you on campus. The student run orgs are fine but there aren’t that many and unfortunately Allentown doesn’t provide much in the way of opportunity to get off campus in a safe, convenient capacity. Nearly every day there was a phone alert that there was a stabbing or a theft near campus.
As well, I felt that the general atmosphere on campus was very toxic. Between the athletes and the Greek life and the small student body, there was a very high school clique-iness to it that really frustrated me when I attended. Only athletes got invited to parties and as an athlete I can tell you that the athletes looked down upon nearly everyone else and were super stuck up. On my team kids literally just flat out admitted that they had no intention of talking to anyone who wasn’t on a sports team. Now, athletes are rude regardless of the school, but at Muhlenberg the theatre kids were very much the same way, as were the Greek life kids, so if you weren’t apart of any of these three groups no one would give you the light of day.
Unfortunately I found that the administration only bolstered support for this kind of behavior. Though when my older sister applied and heavily considered going three years before I had committed, the school had a reputation of being a nice, inclusive, friendly arts school which valued education and community values. When I got there, the administration only seemed to care about the schools brand as a sports college and began to cater to the athletes far more than any other realm.
For my final complaint I will go over here, I have to say that the school really wasted a missed opportunity. Muhlenberg college is located equidistant from two of the biggest cities in the country; New York City and Philadelphia. However, they did absolutely nothing to take advantage of this prime location. Once a semester there was a trip to a flyers game and a Broadway play that was offered, but that was it. It would have been so nice had Muhlenberg actually offered a kind of shuttle service, even to one of the nearby train stations, so that students could take advantage of the close proximity to both metropolitan areas, but alas they showed no interest. I think this more or less sums up the excitement at Muhlenberg. If you want "

" Overall is a good school that promotes kindness. It is a great place for people who want to take leadership roles and develop interests in multiple areas. The career services could be improved, the help I received was very minimal and felt like the center was phoning it in. The food services are excellent. "
