" the graduate classes are very small, so we get to actually network with our professors. Everyone is passionate (from the professors I've had) about the field. I've only had one bad experience with a professor - which I proceeded with talking with those above her. The head of the program knows us on name to name basis - creating a very trustworthy environment. The only terrible thing is parking - but my classes are in the evening so I don't deal with it often because by then there are a lot of spaces available. Overall, everyone is super friendly, you're comfortable asking anyone that works there a question. Plus, it is extra safe because you need your ID to scan - to enter any building, including the campus bookstore. "

" It was a good program. I learned a lot from the staff. I would recommend this school and the program. Learn the available resources. There is a lot of uphill walking because of it being located on a steep hill. "

" Great school for both undergraduate or graduate studies! The student-to-faculty ratio is low, which makes it easy to connect with professors on a personal level to gain advice, guidance, and help. There are plenty of areas of study and concentrations, so you are able to find a path that fits your wants and needs. "

" Its a small university but the teachers are great, they make sure that you are actually learning and you're just a number in their classroom. They offer accelerated masters courses while studying in your undergrad, which means once you graduate with your bachelors you can go right into finishing a masters degree and be done in half the time. The campus is right in oakland, so there are a lot of food options and there are hospitals everywhere. Great for nursing, bio, and research students. "

" Carlow is a very small school which I loved. The facility in my department all knew me by name and beyond by the time I left undergraduate. I would get emails from professors checking in asking if I was okay because I wasn't in class and they were concerned. It's that kind of personal connection that made me fall in love with the university. I always felt safe approaching professors about any concerns and honestly, my advisor became like a second mom to me and my friends. The major downsides to the university though are 1. they are a major nursing school. That's their biggest major and selling point so a lot of focus and energy goes into supporting that major compared to the others, which sucked for some of my friends who were in the arts (graphic design, etc.). Psychology didn't suffer but a bulk of the students are there for nursing. 2. While being a small campus is really nice a lot of the students are commuters. Only about 400 students can live on campus and the rest commute. So during the evenings or even on weekends, the campus can feel pretty empty because students would be home or (for students that maybe live on campus but live close by) would travel home for the weekends. Overall, I loved attending Carlow. There were downsides to being there that I experienced over the years but I loved it enough that currently I'm attending their Masters program. Every campus has it's faults but I think the benefits of Carlow outweigh the downsides by a long shot. "
