" The art department and building is very small and neglected. It's not even a part of the main campus, you have to drive ten minutes from the main campus to get to it. And it doesn't have very many resources either. I wouldn't recommend UTRGV if you want to be an art major. This university is mostly focusing its resources on the medical degree paths and maybe others like engineering. "

" This school gets bashed a lot but I think this is more because it’s in the valley. This school is very affordable, especially if you’re from here and so far I have had enough support from free tutoring and the professors where the classes were manageable. The biggest thing are parking spaces; you have to come very early for a decent parking space because they get filled up by the 9:30 classes. "

" The university had so many resources available. For instance, recently during summer classes my laptop broke, and without question they sent me $500 to get a new one! This is a financially friendly university, perfect to those who want to transfer to a bigger one after completing basics.p "

" School is really great and very affordable. They have various services offered to students from counseling, daycare , to medical services. The staff is really great and there's always someone to help you, I highly recommend this school. The only thing I can complain about is not enough parking spots but I think they are currently working on adding more. "

" Great faculty and academic initiatives. Some of the administrative services were lacking in terms of willingness to help / take initiative. A handful of very helpful people were standouts among a mostly mediocre approach to being helpful. "
