" Great engineering school. Most professors, TA's, etc. are willing to help. Professors can be intimidating when starting out as an undergrad student but if they see you put in the effort, they can be great resources. "

" Great university! Utep provided me with an amazing education during my years there. I could not recommend it anymore, from the staff and the students and the friends I made there, I would not trade my experience for anything. "

" El Paso isn’t the prettiest city and neither is the campus but it is an affordable school and can be a good opportunity especially for engineering majors. There are a row of bars on a street close by. The sports teams aren’t very good and most people aren’t very proud of the school like others. I wish there was more clubs and more student engagement. Overall if you’re looking for an affordable school and are interested in engineering, nursing, or teaching, this school isn’t bad "

" If you want to go to a university purely for the degree UTEP is the school for you. The campus is only ever busy during peak class hours as there are not often things to do after your classes besides study in the library or grab some sub-par overpriced food in the union building. Most professors genuinely care about you and your education but the administration views you as a number. You will experience likely the worst customer service in your entire life when interacting with business services and financial aid. It's dirt cheap to go to and you'll definitely learn something. "

" Parking at UTEP is a difficult thing, passes are sold every semester and often times they overflow outside of campus. This means that if you're late buying a parking pass, you will be stuck using a shuttle to get to the inner campus from your lot. Dawson Lot in specific has parking behind the Fox Fine Arts center, but when it fills up by 9am you are forced to park further away on the road leading to the lot.
UTEP's academics are not bad at all, and it is quite easy to fit in and make friends in clubs, sororities, learning spaces etc. The staff can be grumpy at times, but most are quite nice and helpful if you extend the same courtesy.
Class scheduling is quite important and since the campus is decently sized/large, it can be a 10-15 minute walk from the end of campus to another side depending on your pace. It is quite open though and there are a decent amount of greenery. The architectural style of the campus is beautiful and one of its own in the country.
Walking at night is safe, the campus is well lit and there are multiple police/emergency stops as well. Wifi is good although there are some dead zones, and the classrooms are okay. "
