" Good university for getting degrees, campus situated in forested area. Parking is available for students but one can still walk from student housing without bay trouble. University has many student organizations to join. "

" For context, I am a part of two academic programs, have worked as a student employee for 3 years, and have worn many hats in clubs as presidents, committees as chairmen, and even served as a senator. I know this school all too well.
My favorite thing about attending UHCL has been the faculty. I've had a few experiences with genuinely negligent professors who couldn't care less about your success, but a vast majority of them want to see you do great things. They're typically very willing to support students who show that they're trying. I expect to be in contact with many of my professors post graduation.
My least favorite thing about attending UCHL is the administration. In a nutshell, there's an ongoing theme of self-preservation, greed, lack of effort, and lack of skill. Top-down. As a university, our foundation is extremely shaky and instead of working from the ground up to seriously repair our disfunction, they'd rather paint over it and silence our complaints. Students will whine to each other all day while most fail to take action. It's a bit of a dead end. UHCL is the pinnacle of illegal and unethical leadership. "

" UHCL is a school that is growing, but still needs improvement in a few areas. Originally it did not offer undergraduate programs, so there still isn't much of a campus culture. This does provide a great opportunity for those wanting to help create traditions and groups on campus. Academics at UHCL are great, classes are small and you get to know your professors. UHCL offers a unique college experience and I have enjoyed the tight-knit community, great professors, and low costs. "

" Most students keep to themselves. This school is not very social with one another. The school is trying to connect and become more friendly with the students by promoting multiple events regularly and by promoting their health and wellness recreation center. "

" Love this university and the staff. Quality education with small class sizes. Will be continuing into grad school here as well. The advising staff isn’t the greatest but, talk you your professors they will be your greater mentors. We have a brand new recreation and wellness building with state of the art equipment and passionate professors. "
