" Pretty solid school at least for what I'm studying (advertising). I've had great professors, but can't really speak to the administrative staff. Only in one club, but they offer a lot of events for creatives and advertising students. I'm a commuter, so I can't comment much on social scene, living expenses, food, etc. etc., but parking is always available (though can get filled at night due to events in Richmond) and I do enjoy the food options available around campus. Facilities are kind of hit or miss. You'll have classes in buildings that haven't been renovated in years, and some classes in recently constructed ones. Quality is fine overall, though, and I never considered them to be a hindrance in terms of learning. Campus can feel a little scary at night, but that does come with it being located in a city. "

" VCU as a community is great, as an entity, they don't really care for much outside of money. My major and many others are underfunded and lacking in opportunities. I would recommend researching into your decided major before chosing VCU. I very much regretting not deciding of political science earlier when I was applying to colleges, so that I could have selected a school that put more funding and effort into the political science department. "

" Great online MSW program! Instructors and informative and geared towards social justice issues. I had some initial concerns with the program that have been alleviated by speaking with the dean and my advisor. "

" VCU is a nice campus if you like the feeling of being in the city... and being in the state capitol, there's no real lack of things to do or jobs to apply to. Additionally, I have enjoyed the VCU approach to teaching advertising. It's very hands-on and experiential; lots of portfolio building! "

" I received my undergraduate degree from VCU and am now back to get my masters. The Brandcenter program is very collaborative and focuses on projects rather than taking tests or writing papers. The professors all have extensive real-world experience that they bring to the classroom. Unlike in my undergraduate experience, most of my professors have been full time rather than adjunct. The campus is super clean and the buildings are mostly new at this point. It's in the heart of Richmond and is surrounded by a ton of great restaurants and coffee shops. "
