" Istanbul University is one of the oldest universities in Europe, the oldest in Turkey. Also the biggest in Turkey. There are many students, the lectures are often crowded.
Most students are Turkish and can't speak English.
However the academic personal (professors) are amazing people who are willing to help the students. The Economics department has a long history, so the quality of education was also good. Only problem was that there were too many students and the infrastructure was not usually enough for all.
Campus is pretty central, close to sea and touristic places in Istanbul. Food around campus is cheap. No parking space. You won't have a car in Istanbul as a student anyway. There are A LOT OF cats and they are all human friendly. This is the best aspect!
Overall if you are a Turkish person, the education here is free and you can participate in 3 exchange programs with scholarship which is amazing.
If you are an international student, İstanbul is a great city and the location of school is easy to reach anywhere. It's also very cheap! And the lectures won't be that hard. "
