" I am currently in my first year of study at Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology. I have found the tutors are not only highly skilled but also wonderful people. It is definitely a friendly environment and study is very practical. Self managed learning is a must for me and NMIT provides that.
The computer equipment available during practical hardware classes is up to date and sufficient and though you are required to bring your own laptop, the programs necessary for the course have run just fine on my 8 year old second hand laptop.
NMIT's Moodle site could do with some improvement, but I think that comes down to the limitations of the service itself.
The social scene is great here; within the first week I had made a few new friends and those of us who had many common classes together joined a Discord server, where we're able to chat, share notes and help each other study.
Overall, I would recommend NMIT. "

" Great place to learn, modern campus and knowledgeable tutors who are there to support your learning. Highly rated programs offered, NMIT is classed as a Category 1' institution, the highest ranking possible, by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) so you know you're getting quality teaching. Accommodation looked good but I didn't need to use it, as well as sporting facilities there's a gym and a small court area, yet it isn't needed as there are facilities around Nelson that provide that.
Overall, highly recommend this institute and am definitely glad a chose to complete my studies here in beautiful sunny Nelson! "
